My name is Ranjan Kumar Shamal I’m originally from Odisha and moved to Hyderabad in 2007. I began practicing karate in 2009 at YMCA Secunderabad, where my first teacher was Shivlal Sharma. After learning from him, I trained under D. Ramesh Sir, who is an incredible master. It’s because of his guidance and support that I’ve achieved so much in karate today. He taught me everything—from kata, kumite, and weapons to self-defense techniques. He treated me like family, always looking out for my well-being and progress in karate. Due to his dedicated training, I became an 8-time National Karate Champion and won the International Karate Championship twice. Currently, I am a karate instructor and also serve as a referee. I have fought in numerous matches, and in 2014, my Grand Master sent me to Gujarat to train his team there. That was the turning point in my karate career as a professional. Today, I run my own dojo in Hyderabad, Telangana, where I am training many students in karate. My goal is to give my absolute best to my students, so they can represent our country on the global stage and win gold medals, making our nation proud.
